Rutgers M.D.-Ph.D. Candidate Wins AMA’s National Research Competition
Leelabati “Leela” Biswas won the 2022 American Medical Association Research Challenge, earning a grand prize of $10,000 for her research validating a genetic biomarker tied to miscarriages. Biswas, who is pursuing a dual doctoral degree in medicine and microbiology and molecular genetics from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, bested nearly 1,200 other entrants in what the AMA describes as “the largest national, multispecialty research event for medical students, residents, and international medical graduates.”

U.S. News & World Report ranks the School of Nursing’s M.S.N. and D.N.P. programs in the nation’s top 15 and #1 in New Jersey. Its B.S.N. program ranks in the top 25 among nursing schools at public universities.
