"Sing Sing" Film Screening
The Center on Criminal Justice, Youth Rights, and Race will host a screening of "Sing Sing," the award-winning film by Coleman Domingo, followed by a conversation with "Divine G" Whitfield, one of the film's stars.
The film is a lightly fictionalized account of a theater program that has operated within New York's Sing Sing prison for many years and features a number of former program participants, including Mr. Whitfield, in leading roles. In addition to Mr. Whitfield, joining the event will be other returning citizens for whom artistic expression was crucial to their survival on the inside and journey home.
The screening will take place at 4 pm and is co-sponsored by the Criminal and Youth Justice Clinic.
