Honoring an Icon
Rutgers has renamed 15 Washington Street at Rutgers University–Newark Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hall in honor of the late United States Supreme Court Justice. Her lifelong pursuit for equal rights and justice began as a faculty member at Rutgers Law School in Newark, where she taught from 1963 to 1972. The refurbished 17-story neoclassical landmark, home to the law school for nearly 25 years after Ginsburg left Rutgers, now provides housing for undergraduate and graduate students, including law students, and is the residence of Rutgers–Newark chancellor Nancy Cantor.
