Asian Americans and Health
Rutgers Institute for Health, Health Care Policy, and Aging Research and New York University will collaborate to develop the Rutgers-NYU Center for Asian Health Promotion and Equity, thanks to a five-year, $11.6 million grant from the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities, which is part of the National Institutes of Health. The center will be a hub for researchers to conduct studies on cardiometabolic disease and mental health issues affecting Asians living in the New Jersey-New York area. At 23 million people, Asians Americans are the fastest-growing, yet most understudied, demographic group in the United States.
