A Down Payment for Learning
Beginning in the fall, a scholarship program at Rutgers University–Camden will give every first-year undergraduate $3,000 in scholarship funds to help underwrite an immersive learning experience such as a study abroad program, internship, or research undertaking. The Experiential Scholarship, a first for New Jersey’s public four-year colleges and universities, will provide an installment each semester that will accrue for each first-year undergraduate student. Students can apply the funding toward learning experiences each semester or save the funds for larger expenses later in their education. The aid is in keeping with Rutgers–Camden’s reputation for providing excellent value for the cost of earning a degree and why it is cited perennially (as is Rutgers University–Newark and Rutgers University–New Brunswick) by Washington Monthly magazine in its Best Bang for the Buck rankings.
