A Greener Rutgers
In his second address to the University Senate in September, president Jonathan Holloway underscored Rutgers’ commitment to carbon neutrality by formally accepting the Climate Action Plan, a two-year effort of the President’s Task Force on Carbon Neutrality and Climate Resilience. “Achieving these imperative goals will involve everyone in our university community,” said Holloway. He also announced the formation of the Office of Climate Action, codirected by climate scientist Robert Kopp and supply chain expert Kevin Lyons, to implement plans for Rutgers to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040. Urban environmental planner Angela Oberg serves as office’s associate director.
