All tickets and parking passes for the Rutgers University–New Brunswick and Rutgers Health Commencement on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at SHI Stadium on the Busch Campus in Piscataway will be digital and require eligible graduating students to register via the Commencement Ticket R.S.V.P and Parking Registration webpage from April 1-30.
Rutgers' 259th Anniversary Commencement will take place, rain or shine, at 10 a.m., with gates opening two hours beforehand (8 a.m.). Participants and visitors are urged to arrive early to allow ample time to park and walk to the ceremony or take one of the complimentary shuttle buses from the Livingston Campus or the College Ave. Campus to the stadium.
Tickets and Parking
- Commencement Ticket R.S.V.P and Parking Registration will be open from April 1 to April 30.
- Graduates are eligible to receive one (1) digital graduate ticket, six (6) digital guest tickets, and two (2) digital parking passes, which will automatically appear in graduates’ Scarlet Knights ticketing accounts after the period closes.
- Graduates may request additional digital guest tickets when completing the ticket R.S.V.P. form.
- Additional digital parking passes will be available for purchase ($10.00) via the site beginning April 15 and will also be sold on the Livingston Campus on Commencement Day.
- A special Commencement digital parking pass is required for accessible parking and can be requested during the registration process.
- Parking permits issued by the Department of Transportation Services are not valid on Commencement Day.
- Digital tickets and parking passes are transferrable and will require recipients to establish a Scarlet Knights ticketing account.
- Graduates and guests are encouraged to visit the Commencement Ticket R.S.V.P and Parking Registration webpage for additional information on requesting, receiving, transferring, and downloading digital tickets and parking passes.
Transportation
- Use the Commencement Parking Map with travel routes, parking zones, and Commencement shuttle stops for driving directions.
- Complimentary Commencement shuttle service to SHI Stadium will be offered from the Orange Parking Zone in front of Jersey Mike’s Arena on Livingston Campus and the Gray Parking Zone in front of the College Avenue Student Center on College Ave. Campus.
- For those taking a taxi or car service (including Uber and Lyft), the College Avenue Student Center is the designated drop-off location where shuttles then can be boarded. Curbside drop-off at SHI Stadium is strictly prohibited.
- Those taking a train into New Brunswick Station can take a complimentary Commencement shuttle from a stop on the Albany Street side of the station in front of the Dunkin Donuts or the stop in front of the College Avenue Student Center.
- Graduates and guests are encouraged to visit the Commencement Getting Here and Getting Around webpage for additional information on travel, parking, and shuttle buses.
Security and Prohibited Items
- The SHI Stadium bag policy will be enforced.
- Permitted items include:
- Clutches and wallets no larger than 4½ inches by 6½ inches.
- Clear plastic bags no larger than one gallon.
- Prohibited items include any bags larger than the permitted sizes, outside food and beverages, umbrellas, strollers, signs, banners, selfie sticks, and balloons.
