NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – Due Process, the critically acclaimed public television series on law and justice produced in partnership with the Rutgers iTV Studio and the Division of Continuing Studies, has been nominated for six Emmy Awards by The Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The awards will be presented September 22 in Philadelphia.
The nominations affirm the program’s long tradition of excellence, having been the winner of 19 New York and Mid-Atlantic Emmys since it premiered on New Jersey Network (NJN) in 1996.

As a production of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, Due Process continues to earn recognition. This year’s nominations include the two-part Due Process special, “Justice Breyer: On Democracy,” featuring Associate U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer in a rare interview shot before an overflow audience at Rutgers Law School-Newark. The other five nominations are for work recorded at the iTV Studio.
“After 16 years with the NJN studio in Trenton, we were able to manage a smooth transition to the ‘high-def’ facility at iTV – a tribute to the spirit and skill of the talented Pete Troost and his extraordinary staff,” said Sandra King, executive producer of Due Process. Troost (LC '82) is an Emmy Award-winning lighting director and assistant director of technical operations and production for iTV Studio.
Co-hosted by King, an award-winning journalist, and criminal defense and human rights attorney Raymond Brown, Due Process is a production of the Rutgers School of Law-Newark and the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy. The series examines a broad range of social, legal, and policy issues through honest and unbiased reporting, interviewing and writing.
