WHAT: | Young Elected Officials Panel Discussion, a follow-up to the Eagleton Institute of Politics Young Elected Leaders Project that compiled information concerning the demographics and personal characteristics of the nations up-and-coming political leaders, aged 35 and younger, as well as their stand on the issues and the forces that shaped them |

BACKGROUND: More than half of todays top elected officials won their first public office at age 35 or younger. If tomorrows top leadership is likely to come from todays young elected leaders, the electorate must become knowledgeable about who they are, the forces that influenced them and their positions on the issues. Panelists are expected to discuss their motivation to enter public service and describe how young people can become involved with the political process.
