Events are planned across the university in the lead up to the National First-Generation College Celebration Day on Nov. 8. Here are some ways the university is celebrating the success of its first-generation students.
Rutgers-New Brunswick
The New Brunswick campus will hold its first weeklong celebration.
Kickoff event: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 4, Livingston Student Center
Tri-Alpha induction ceremony: 4-6 p.m. Nov. 4, the Rutgers Club
Equity mindset workshop for teachers: noon to 2 p.m. Nov. 7, the Collaborative Room at Livingston Student Center
Student resource fair: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 8, Livingston Plaza
Postcard writing to first-generation students: 5-7 p.m. Nov. 8., Livingston student center
Rutgers-Camden
Rutgers-Camden is also hosting a weeklong series of events.

First-gen students can stop by the table in front of PRCC Starbucks on Nov. 4 or Nov. 5 from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. to be highlighted on Rutgers-Newark social media to share what makes you a proud first-gen student!
