Rutgers-Newark Gives Back on Community Engagement Day

Members of the Rutgers University-Newark Community dedicated a recent Saturday to giving back to the city they call home during Community Engagement Day. The event drew more than 200 volunteers who worked at 13 sites throughout the City of Newark. Hosted during both the fall and spring semesters by the Office of Student Life and Leadership at Rutgers-Newark, volunteers complete projects at local parks, gardens and schools and support groups that address food insecurity, homelessness, AIDS and HIV awareness and more.
